Tracking & pixels

Tracking & pixels connects your landing pages to the ad and analytics tools you already use. You paste each tool’s ID, and Gabriel adds that tool’s standard tracking code to your pages. When someone submits a form on a page, Gabriel also reports the lead, so your ads can measure what they bring in.

Go to Settings > Tracking & pixels. You need the Set the tracking pixels that run on landing pages permission, which only admins have.

  1. Go to Settings > Tracking & pixels.
  2. Paste the ID for each tool you use. Leave the others empty. Each field says Looks right once the ID has the right format.
  3. Click Save changes.

Pixels start loading on your pages within a minute. To stop a tool, clear its field and save.

Paste the ID only, never the tool’s code snippet. Gabriel adds the snippet itself.

Field What it looks like Where to find it
Google Analytics 4 measurement ID G-XXXXXXXXXX In Google Analytics, Admin > Data streams > your web stream.
Google Tag Manager container ID GTM-XXXXXXX At the top of Tag Manager, next to the container name.
Meta pixel ID 15 or 16 digits In Meta Events Manager, Data sources > your pixel.
LinkedIn Insight partner ID 5 to 8 digits In LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Analyze > Insight Tag.
LinkedIn conversion ID (optional) 5 to 10 digits In Campaign Manager, Analyze > Conversion tracking > your conversion. Needs the partner ID.
Google Ads conversion ID AW- and 9 to 11 digits In Google Ads, Goals > Conversions > your conversion > Tag setup.
Google Ads conversion label (optional) Letters, numbers, - and _ The same tag setup screen: the part after the slash in AW-123456789/label. Needs the conversion ID.

A privacy policy URL that starts with https:// is required while any pixel is set, so visitors can see how you use tracking. Gabriel uses your company’s privacy policy URL from Settings > Company > General, and links it in the footer of every page on your domain.

  • The Tracking & pixels page shows the current URL, with a link to change it.
  • You can’t save a pixel until the URL is set and starts with https://.
  • While any pixel is set, you can’t clear the URL or change it to an http:// address. Remove the pixels first.

When a visitor submits a form on one of your pages, Gabriel reports a lead to each tool you set up:

  • Google Analytics 4: a generate_lead event.
  • Meta: a Lead event.
  • Google Ads: your conversion, when the conversion label is set. With only the conversion ID, the Google tag loads but no conversion is sent.
  • LinkedIn: your conversion, when the LinkedIn conversion ID is set.
  • Google Tag Manager: a gabriel_form_submitted event in the data layer, with gabrielFormId and gabrielLandingPageId. It has its own name so Tag Manager never counts a lead twice when Google Analytics is also set up here.

This happens on its own on your pages. Nothing the visitor typed is sent, only that a form was submitted.

  1. In Tag Manager, go to Triggers and click New.
  2. Choose Custom Event and enter gabriel_form_submitted as the event name.
  3. Attach the trigger to the tags that should count a lead, such as a Google Analytics event tag or a conversion tag.
  4. Publish the container.

Report leads from forms on your own website

Section titled “Report leads from forms on your own website”

A Gabriel form embedded on your own website can report leads too. It’s off until you turn it on, so forms you already embedded keep working as before.

  1. Make sure your website already loads your tracking tools (Google Analytics, Meta and so on). The form only reports to tools the page has.

  2. In the form’s embed code, add data-gabriel-conversions="true" to the <script> tag (or to the form’s <div> to turn it on for one form only). Keep the src you copied:

    <div class="gabriel-form" data-form-key="YOUR_FORM_KEY"></div>
    <script src="…/embed/gabriel-forms.js" defer data-gabriel-conversions="true"></script>
  3. To report a Google Ads or LinkedIn conversion as well, add their targets:

    <div class="gabriel-form" data-form-key="YOUR_FORM_KEY"
    data-gabriel-ads-send-to="AW-123456789/AbC-D_efG"
    data-gabriel-linkedin-conversion="1234567"></div>

Every form also announces a submission on the page with a gabriel:form-submitted event, whether or not you turn this on. A developer can listen for it to run their own code. It carries the form’s ID and the page’s ID, never what the visitor typed:

document.addEventListener('gabriel:form-submitted', (event) => {
console.log(event.detail.formId);
});
  • Verified domains only. Pixels load on pages served from an active custom domain. A domain that’s still being set up, and the shared address, never load them.
  • IDs are checked twice. Each ID is checked against its tool’s format when you save and again every time a page is shown. An ID that doesn’t match is left out.
  • Only these tools can run. Your pages allow code only from the tools you set up. Anything else is blocked by the visitor’s browser.
  • Tag Manager runs Google tags. A Tag Manager container can run its Google Analytics and Google Ads tags on your pages. Custom HTML tags, custom JavaScript variables and tags from other companies are blocked. Use the fields on this page for Meta and LinkedIn instead.
  • Redirects wait a moment. When a form sends visitors to another page after they submit, it waits a fraction of a second so the lead events can leave the page first.
  • Use one way to load Google Analytics. If your Tag Manager container already has a Google Analytics tag, leave the Google Analytics 4 measurement ID empty. Setting both counts every visit twice.
  • Test with each tool’s helper. Open a page on your domain with Google Tag Assistant, Meta Pixel Helper or LinkedIn’s Insight Tag checker to see the events arrive.
  • Mention every tool in your privacy policy. List the tools you set up here.

The pixel doesn’t load. Check that you opened the page on your own domain, not on pages.gabrielcrm.com, and that the domain shows Active in Domains. Changes can take a minute to show.

I can’t save. A field shows what’s wrong with its ID, or the privacy policy URL is missing or doesn’t start with https://. Fix it in Settings > Company > General.

Google Ads shows no conversions. Add the Google Ads conversion label. Without it only the Google tag loads.

Tag Manager tags don’t fire. Custom HTML tags and tags from other companies are blocked on your pages. Use the fields on this page for those tools.
