Prospecting

Prospecting finds new people for you to sell to. You search Seamless.ai’s database by job title, company, location, industry and more, pick the people you want, have Seamless.ai research their email and phone, and import them into Gabriel as leads or contacts.

Prospecting is turned on per company. Your account manager can turn it on, and your company needs its own Seamless.ai subscription. Once it’s on, open Prospecting from the CRM group in the sidebar. You need permission to create leads to use it.

An admin first connects your Seamless.ai account under Settings > Integrations > Seamless.ai; see Seamless.ai. The admin also turns on Prospecting there. Until both are done, the Prospecting page says Seamless.ai is not connected or prospecting is turned off.

Fill in any of the filters, then click Search. Searching is free.

  • Job title, Company name, Company domain, State / region and Country: separate several values with commas, for example “VP Sales, Director of IT”.
  • Location matches: whether the location filters apply to Contact’s location (the default), Company HQ, Contact or company, or Contact and company.
  • City: type the city and its state. The state narrows the search; without it, Gabriel can only comb a nationwide result set for the city.
  • Industry: search the list and pick up to 5.
  • ZIP targeting: add up to 10 ZIP codes. Click Map of (your city) to pick ZIP codes on a map, choose a radius and click Map near office… to pick ZIP codes around your office, or type them in.
  • Company size, Seniority and Department: click to select. You can pick up to 5 seniority levels and 5 departments.

Results show each person’s Name, Title, Company, Location and company Size. Click Load more for the next page. Email and phone stay hidden (Research to reveal) until you research the person.

  1. Tick the people you want, up to 25 at a time.
  2. Click Research selected. The button shows how many credits it will use.
  3. Stay on the page while the Researched contacts panel finishes. Each person shows the email and phone found, or Not found if Seamless.ai had nothing.
  4. Click Import as Leads or Import as Contacts.
  5. Check the preview. Each row says Will create, Duplicate of a record you already have, or Already imported. For contacts, it also says whether it will create a new company or link to one you have.
  6. Click Import. The button shows how many records will be created.

Only the rows marked Will create are imported. Duplicates are skipped, not merged.

Import people your team already researched

Section titled “Import people your team already researched”

If your team researches people inside Seamless.ai itself, you can bring them in without spending credits again. On the Leads page, click Import > Import from Seamless.ai, pick the dates under Researched from and to, click Fetch contacts, tick the people you want, and import them as leads.

On a lead, open … and click Enrich from Seamless.ai. On a contact, click Enrich at the top of the page. Gabriel researches the person and fills in any empty fields. Where Seamless.ai has a different value from the one on file, you get a suggestion to accept or dismiss instead of an automatic overwrite. Enriching uses one credit.

You don’t have to wait for it. If you close the page or move on, Gabriel still writes the result to the record, usually within 5 to 10 minutes.

Every new lead’s company details are also filled in automatically from free sources, and an admin can have every new lead researched on Seamless.ai too. See Lead enrichment.

  • Credits. Searching and fetching people your team already researched are free. Researching a person, from Prospecting or with by enriching a record, uses one credit from your Seamless.ai subscription. Your balance shows at the top of the Prospecting page and under Settings > Integrations > Seamless.ai. Buy more credits in Seamless.ai.
  • Duplicates. A person counts as a duplicate if a contact or lead already has their email address, or if they were imported from Seamless.ai before. Contacts are checked first.
  • Companies. Import as Contacts links each person to a company you already have with the same website domain, or else the same name. If there’s none, it creates the company from Seamless.ai’s details.
  • Source. Everything imported is given the source Seamless.ai, and that source is added to your Lead Sources list if it isn’t there yet.
  • Owner. Leads and contacts imported from Seamless.ai are assigned to whoever imported them.
  • Industry. Seamless.ai’s industry is matched to your company’s Industries list from Settings > Picklists. If none of your industries fits, Industry is left empty; Gabriel never adds a new one. When your company has AI set up and the names don’t match, AI picks the closest industry from your list.
  • Automations. Importing from Seamless.ai doesn’t start automations.
  • Search narrow, then research. Searching is free and research costs a credit per person. Combine job title, seniority, industry and location until the list is people you’d actually call, then research only those.
  • Build searches from your ICP. Use the industries, company sizes and titles from your Ideal Customer Profile as your filters, so the people you research are the ones your fit verdicts reward, and you spend credits only on likely buyers.
  • Stay within the limits. Seamless.ai accepts at most 10 job titles, states, countries or ZIP codes, and 5 industries, seniority levels or departments, per search. Gabriel stops you before you go over, so if a search is refused, remove some values.
  • Always add the state to a city. Without the state, the city filter only narrows results that came back from the whole country, so you can page through many results before finding anyone local.
  • Use Map near office for territory selling. Set your company address, including the ZIP code, in your company settings, then pick ZIP codes within a radius of your office to find people you can visit.
  • Assign imported leads right away. Leads from Seamless.ai arrive with no owner, so nobody’s Assigned To filter shows them. Set an Owner on each, or tick them and Run automation with one that assigns owners.
  • Import as leads unless you’re sure. Leads let you qualify before creating companies. Use Import as Contacts only for people you know you’ll work as accounts.

No office ZIP code found. Add your company address (including ZIP) in Settings → Company. Map near office… reads your company’s address. Ask an admin to add the full address, including the ZIP code.

Prospecting requires lead-creation access. Your role can’t create leads. Ask an admin for access.
