Company
The Company settings hold the details Gabriel uses across your account: the name, address and links that go in email and landing page footers, your business hours and time zone, and how phone numbers are formatted.
Go to Settings > Company. It has two tabs: General (this article) and Branding (see Branding). You need the Manage organization settings permission, which admins have.
Update company information
Section titled “Update company information”On the General tab:
- Under Company Information, fill in:
- Company Name
- Phone Number and Website: these appear in the footer of your automated emails, under your address.
- Physical Address: your mailing address. Automated and list emails can’t be sent until it’s set. It’s the same setting as Physical address on Email sending.
- Privacy Policy URL and Terms of Service URL: linked automatically in the footer of your published landing pages.
- Business Description: a few sentences on what you sell and to whom, up to 2,000 characters.
- Under Email Compliance, set:
- Default From Address: used when Email sending has no from address of its own. It must be on your verified sending domain.
- Reply-To Address: where replies to automated emails go. Leave it empty and replies go to the record’s owner.
- Click Save Changes under Email Compliance.
Company information and email compliance save together. Reset puts back what was last saved.
Set your work schedule and time zone
Section titled “Set your work schedule and time zone”- Under Work Schedule, choose:
- Week Start Day and Week End Day. The week can run past Sunday, for example Friday to Thursday.
- Day Starts At and Day Ends At, in half-hour steps. The day must end after it starts.
- Timezone.
- Under Data Formatting, choose a Phone Number Format.
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
The defaults are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Eastern time, and the 123-456-7890 (Dashes (US default)) phone format.
Choose what enrichment does with new locations
Section titled “Choose what enrichment does with new locations”When Gabriel enriches a company from its website, it can find office locations the company doesn’t have yet. Under Company Enrichment, set New locations and click Save Changes:
- Suggest for review (default): each location appears in the company’s enrichment suggestions, to add or dismiss.
- Add automatically: each location is added as a branch address right away.
- Off: enrichment ignores locations beyond the headquarters address.
Whichever you choose, the headquarters address is filled in when it’s empty and is never overwritten without review.
Turn automatic lead enrichment on or off
Section titled “Turn automatic lead enrichment on or off”Under Lead Enrichment, switch Auto-enrich new leads on or off. It’s on by default and saves right away. When it’s on, Gabriel fills in a new lead’s empty company details from its email domain, the company website and Google Places, and picks its industry from your list. It never changes a value someone entered and never creates a company.
When your company uses Seamless.ai, Also research with Seamless.ai (off by default) also looks up each new lead on Seamless.ai, using one credit per lead.
See Lead enrichment.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- Business hours set each new user’s starting booking availability, and the hour automated emails go out when Email sending sets none.
- Your work week sets what “this week” means on the dashboard.
- Cadence and automation timing counts Monday to Friday as working days, minus your holidays, whatever work week you set here. Steps become due at the start of the day in the company time zone.
- Time zone: each person can set their own time zone under Your preferences. Dashboards and the Calling report use theirs first and fall back to the company’s.
- Phone format applies to phone numbers on new contacts and companies.
- Business Description is read by the AI form filter to tell real inquiries from sales pitches, and by other AI features for tone and context. See AI.
Best practices
Section titled “Best practices”- Fill in your physical address before you build automations that email. US anti-spam law (CAN-SPAM) requires a postal address in commercial email, so Gabriel won’t send automated or list email until one is set.
- Set the time zone to where your team works, not where your server or headquarters is. Cadence steps become due at the start of the day in this zone, so a wrong zone makes steps appear a day early or late for reps.
- Write the Business Description for a stranger. Say what you sell, to which kind of company, and where. The AI form filter compares each form submission against it, so a vague description lets more sales pitches through.
- Set a Reply-To only if someone watches that inbox. Left empty, replies go to the record’s owner, which is usually what reps want.
- Pick the phone format before you import. The format applies to new records, so set it before you bring in your contacts and companies.
- Leave New locations on Suggest for review until you trust it. Switch to Add automatically once you’ve seen a few suggestions and they look right.
