Connect and sync your calendar
Connect your work calendar so your meetings appear on the Gabriel Calendar, meetings with contacts are logged on their timelines, and booking links can check when you’re free.
Connect
Section titled “Connect”- Go to Settings > Email & Calendar.
- Click Connect Microsoft 365 (or connect Google Workspace).
- Sign in and accept the permissions.
That’s it — Gabriel starts syncing on its own. You don’t need to press anything.
How sync works
Section titled “How sync works”- First sync pulls in events from three months ago to three months ahead, including each occurrence of recurring meetings.
- After that, Gabriel picks up only what changed — new, moved, renamed and deleted events.
- Automatically every 15 minutes, and when you open the Calendar page (if it’s been more than 5 minutes since the last sync).
- Manually with Sync Calendar in the Calendar Sync section of Settings > Email & Calendar. The section also shows your total synced events and when it last synced.
Only your main calendar is synced. Shared and secondary calendars are not.
Meetings with contacts are logged automatically
Section titled “Meetings with contacts are logged automatically”When a synced meeting includes someone who is a contact in Gabriel, the meeting is added as a Meeting activity on that contact’s timeline.
- One activity per meeting, even if several of your teammates have it on their calendars.
- If the meeting moves or is renamed, the activity updates.
- If an upcoming meeting is cancelled, its activity is marked cancelled. Past meetings are kept.
- Meetings booked through Gabriel booking links are already logged, so they aren’t added twice.
These activities are visible to anyone who can see the contact.
Viewing events
Section titled “Viewing events”Synced events appear on the Calendar page (Month, Week and Day views) with an Outlook badge. Click one to see its details:
- Join online meeting and Open in Outlook.
- Attendees who are contacts link to their record. Other outside attendees have an Add as contact button that fills in their name and email.
- If you organized the meeting, Delete cancels it in Outlook.
To change an event’s time, title or attendees, edit it in Outlook.
Force Full Sync
Section titled “Force Full Sync”If events look wrong or are missing, go to Settings > Email & Calendar and click Force Full Sync. Gabriel clears your synced events and downloads them fresh (three months back, three months ahead).
Use it when:
- events show old or wrong details, or appear as “Untitled Event”
- an event further ahead than three months doesn’t show up as it gets closer
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The card says “Reconnect needed”. Your Microsoft sign-in has expired. Click Reconnect Microsoft 365. Your settings and history are kept.
Booking links stopped offering times. If Gabriel can’t read your calendar, your booking links stop offering times so no one books over an existing meeting, and you get a notification. Reconnect your calendar to fix it.
Event times look wrong. Check your time zone in Settings > Preferences and in Outlook.
Disconnecting
Section titled “Disconnecting”When you disconnect, your synced events stop showing on the Gabriel Calendar. Meeting activities already logged on contacts stay.
